Oriole Park at Camden Yards Earns ‘Best MLB Stadium’ Award

| March 20, 2024 | 0 Comments

The accolades keep coming for the Baltimore Orioles as Oriole Park at Camden Yards was named the Best MLB Stadium by the USA Today readers’ poll.

From the article:

The Baltimore Orioles have been calling Oriole Park at Camden Yards home since 1992, while celebrities like Paul McCartney, Billy Joel, and even Pope John Paul II have held events within the space. In addition to hosting baseball games, the venue is also renowned for its charming retro-classic design, with many later stadiums taking inspiration from the surrounding structure.

The Orioles have a new 15- to 30-year lease at Oriole Park which unlocks $600 million in taxpayer-financed bonds for stadium improvements. This funding, which will help further enhance the facility and stadium experience, was authorized last year by the Maryland General Assembly.

The Orioles will also have a new ownership group in the coming weeks led by billionaire and Baltimore native David Rubenstein.

Rubenstein is also looking to improve the experience around the ballpark. In a statement in February, he said, “Importantly, the impact of the Orioles extends far beyond the baseball diamond. The opportunity for the team to catalyze development around Camden Yards and in downtown Baltimore will provide generations of fans with lifelong memories and create additional economic opportunities for our community.”

The Orioles open the season at Oriole Park on March 28th.

Upper Deck Golf will be hosting an event at the stadium on June 7th and June 8th.

Oriole Park is reportedly a contender to host the the Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star Game in 2027, 2028, or 2029.
