Ravens Pushing to Bring the NFL Draft to Baltimore

| April 4, 2024 | 0 Comments

The NFL Draft has evolved into one of the biggest sporting events in America and the Ravens are making a push to bring it to Baltimore. The NFL Draft is a three-day event that takes places every year in late April.

In recent years it has moved around to different NFL cities.¬†Lower Broadway in Nashville hosted the Draft in 2019 followed by Cleveland’s FirstEnergy Stadium, the Linq Promenade in Las Vegas, and Union Station in Kansas City in 2021, 2022, and 2023, respectively. Attendance in Kansas City was announced as 312,000.

Detroit is hosting the Draft this year and Green Bay will host in 2025.

From BaltimoreRavens.com:

“We’ve begun talks with the NFL,” Brown said Monday at the league meetings in Orlando. “The Draft has become such a major tentpole event for the league. A lot of cities are interested.”

“We think Baltimore’s a great venue for it. We’re also talking to folks who are developing the Inner Harbor. We’d certainly have to convince the NFL, but we’ll put that pressure on ourselves to try and bring one to Baltimore in the relatively near future.”

If the effort is successful, the upcoming years could be very eventful sports-wise for Baltimore. Oriole Park at Camden Yards is considered “a favorite” to host the Major League Baseball (MLB) All-Star Game before the end of the decade. The Orioles, coming off an American League East Championship, have also positioned themselves to make repeat playoff berths and, hopefully, a World Series appearance and win in the near future.

The Ravens hosted their first-ever AFC Championship game at M&T Bank Stadium in January, and giant European soccer clubs AC Milan and FC Barcelona will get together for a match at the stadium in August. Unfortunately, M&T Bank Stadium did not make the final cut for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Major conference college basketball games are also returning to the recently-renovated CFG Bank Arena next year.
