Gene’s Greens has a farm in Westminster, hosts a farmers market at Silo Point in Locust Point, and has a home delivery CSA that serves different communities including South Baltimore. Edwards talks about his evolution from a gardener to a farmer, how he delivers his produce to the community, and the day-to-day life a small-business farmer in Maryland.

Jen Walker is a freelance writer who fondly remembers one of her early assignments as a travel book author for a guide about Baltimore. Her handful of national clips have been about local events, including this short piece in Saveur about the Polish Home Club’s annual Christmas caroling get together in Fell’s Point. Today, she mainly writes about people in health and medicine and the arts for organizations and universities. Read some of her early work at About four years ago, Jen also started the We Built This Life podcast to tell stories about small business owners, many of whom are from Baltimore. Although the podcast ended earlier this year, she’s excited to keep telling stories about the wonderful people in our city for South Baltimore Now!
