A $16 million-streetscape project on Warner St. in The Walk @ Warner Street entertainment district is now under construction. The three-block section of Warner St. connects Horseshoe Casino Baltimore to M&T Bank Stadium.
The Horseshoe Casino Baltimore ownership group of CBAC is leading the work and South Baltimore’s Plano-Coudon is the general contractor.
A representative from CBAC told SouthBMore.com: “The goal is to improve Warner Street and The Walk between the stadium and the casino. When complete, Warner Street will have a new concrete surface, new and wider sidewalks, no overhead BGE lines, new water and sewer lines in the ground, a bike path, a landscaped area, and new lights.”
All the improvements are taking place on publicly-owned property. The entire project will take about 16 to 18 months to complete. Warner St. is now only open for access from the casino garage and for emergency vehicles, Topgolf delivery vehicles, and pedestrian traffic.
While CBAC is leading the work, it will be reimbursed by Baltimore City funds and a state grant. Much of the city funds come from the Baltimore Casino Local Development Council which spends Casino Local Impact Grants generated from slot machines.
The streetscape project is an improvement to the The Walk @ Warner Street master plan by CBAC. Horseshoe Casino Baltimore opened in 2014, Topgolf opened in 2022, and a park was renovated and reopened behind the casino garage in 2022.
Construction on the 3,950-seat The Paramount Baltimore has been paused for the past two years, but construction crews have been seen at the building in recent weeks.
The master plan also calls for an additional entertainment venue at 1301 Warner St. and a hotel at 1400 Warner St.
