The basketball and tennis courts at Latrobe Park in Locust Point now feature pickleball lines in addition to the existing tennis, basketball, and street hockey markings. The new yellow lines were added in recent weeks by Baltimore City Recreation and Parks (BCRP).
The tennis courts are now lined for six pickleball courts and the basketball courts have been striped for four pickleball courts. Players must provide their own portable nets. The tennis courts previously had pickleball lines made with tape.
Dave Arndt of the Locust Point Civic Association (LPCA) told SouthBMore.com that the neighborhood has been requesting pickleball lines from BCRP “for years.” Recreational sports organization VOLO, which runs Wednesday night pickleball leagues at Latrobe Park, has also advocated for the addition.
