Orangetheory Fitness to Open at Hanover Cross Street in Stadium Square
The Hanover Company announced its first retail tenant for Hanover Cross Street as Orangetheory Fitness recently signed a 3,600 sq. ft. first-floor lease at the apartment building. Hanover Cross Street is located at 101 W. Cross St. and is part of the $300+ million Stadium Square mixed-used development in the South Baltimore and Sharp-Leadenhall neighborhoods adjacent to Federal Hill.

Former Post Office Demolished to Make Way for Offices and Apartments
The former USPS South Station post office at 1220 Race St. has been demolished to make way for new development. The post office moved to a 1,200 sq. ft. space at 1200 S. Hanover St. on February 4th.

South Baltimore USPS Post Office Moving on February 4th
First announced in May 2016, the United States Postal Service (USPS) will be moving its South Baltimore post office less than two blocks from 1220 Race St. to 1200 S. Hanover St. on February 4th. The new post office will be at a 1,200 sq. ft. space that was previously the home of Papa John’s, which relocated to a smaller space within the same retail building.

315-Unit Apartment Building Proposed for Stadium Square
The apartment building will have around 315 mostly one-bedroom apartment units, two courtyards, a pool, a gym, club rooms, and a 334-car garage which is fully wrapped and hidden by the apartment units and attached office building.

Solo Gibbs Master Plan Proposes Large Athletic Field, Demolished School, and a Development Site
The two biggest obstacles to executing this plan are the demolition of the existing Sharp-Leadenhall Elementary School in order to incorporate that land into the park, and finding funding to construct a new recreation center which could total more than $2 million. Sharp-Leadenhall Elementary School is scheduled to close in 2020.

Spaces will provide 89 private enclosed offices at Stadium Square that range in size from 60 sq. ft. to 1,000 sq. ft. Each office will be leased to different small businesses, entrepreneurs, professionals, and business travelers in need a flexible space to work. The glass-front offices can fit anywhere from one to 15 employees and start at $595 per month.

Improvements Coming to the Hamburg Street Light Rail Station
The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) announced $20,395,834 in grants to support improvements for bicycle and pedestrian safety and connectivity across the state last month. One of the grant recipients was the Maryland Transportation Administration (MTA) for $240,000 for design and construction of pedestrian access improvements between Sharp-Leadenhall and the Hamburg Street Light Rail station.

Stadium Square developer Caves Valley Partners (CVP) announced today that Spaces, an Amsterdam-born “creative workspace provider,” has signed a lease for about 35,000 sq. ft. of Class A office space at 145 W. Ostend St. Spaces will occupy more than two and a half floors of the six-story, 72,000 sq. ft. building, which is now more than 50% leased.
