Live Baltimore Release:

 ‘Worst Roommate Ever’ Facebook Contest
Contest Spreads Cautionary, and Entertaining, Tales on Importance of Finding the Right Roommate

Live Baltimore is giving away a $100 Neighborhood Prize Bag for the “Worst Roommate Ever” contest on Facebook, Facebook.com/LiveBaltimore. The contest ends Monday April 15 at noon, whichever post has the most likes wins. The contest is promoting an upcoming event, Roommate Speed Date, on Thursday, April 18 from 7pm to 9pm at The Fitzgerald, 1201 West Mt. Royal Avenue 21217. A speed dating-inspired event designed to match up homeowners with a spare room, renters looking to fill a house, or anyone looking to find a like-minded roommate with whom to split living expenses.

“Some people might own a home and have a dust-collecting extra bedroom. Others may need a place to live and realize they can afford a larger place in a more convenient neighborhood by finding a roommate,” says Steven Gondol, Executive Director.

The event will include food, drinks, and timed face-to-face sessions with each “dater.” Daters will complete a Match Sheet for each potential roommate during the face-to-face sessions covering topics such as price range, work schedule, recycling, furniture, smoking, and home décor preferences. The pre-determined topics leave nothing un-discovered and ensure that everything—even the awkward stuff—is brought up. Once the face-to-face sessions are complete, Live Baltimore staff will tally the Match Sheets and share contact information of compatible matches with daters.

Those interested should visit LiveBaltimore.com/roommate to RSVP for Roommate Speed Date.
