South Baltimore Crime Updates
From Baltimore Police Department (BPD):
On 31 May 2023 this Officer responded to the 1600 block of Johnson Street in reference to an armed robbery at approximately 1922 hours. Upon arrival this Officer spoke with victim who advised that while exiting her vehicle in the block she noticed 5 unknown black juvenile males walking down the street. She waited until they passed her before she crossed to the other side of the street. Unknowingly, the males turned back and approached victim. One suspect on each side of her, one in the front and her back was against a gate. The other two suspects stood back some. One of the suspects stated “don’t make a scene” while placing a pocketknife to her left side. The suspect in front of her also had a knife pointed at her. Victim dropped her cellular device as well as her purse, which held her vehicle keys and wallet. One of the suspects picked up the property. The suspects fled in the vehicle in an unknown direction. An area canvass was conducted with negative results. Detective from the Southern District responded to the location. Central complaint number issued.
From BPD:
On 06/03/2023 at approximately 0145 hours, officer responded to the unit block of East Cross Street in reference to an aggravated assault by shooting. The initial request was made by a Sergeant who stated that he heard what sounded like a gun shot and moments later he saw the victim laying on the corner of East Cross and Patapsco Street. Victim was suffering from gunshot wound to the body. Same was transported to locate hospital for treatment. A canvass of area was conducted. At the time of this report, victim is in stable condition. District Detective responded and assumed investigation.

On 05.27.2023 this Officer was met by complainant who advised that he parked the listed vehicle in the rear parking lot 930 S. Charles Street. He informed this Officer that he parked the vehicle at approximately 0000 hours and when he returned at approximately 1400 hours, the vehicle was no longer there. Complainant continued by stating that he spoke with the owner of the lot who stated that the vehicle was last seen at approx. 0330 in the lot. Area canvass was conducted with negative results. Central complainant number issued.

From BPD:
On 5.29. 23, approximately 1830 Hrs, this Officer responded to the 400 Blk of E.Cross St in reference to an aggravated assault. I spoke to the victim, who advised that she had just been assaulted by pointing. She stated that she saw a black Nissan Rouge driving the wrong direction on a one way on the 1000 Blk of Covington St. Victim said that she began yelling at the car when an unidentified women got out the car and began walking towards her. Victim stated that she threw an elbow to defend herself which caused a fight and both ended up on the ground. Once victim was able to stand up, she felt an unknown object on the back of her head and heard a male say “are you serious”. victim backed up and saw a black male pointing a gun at her. At this moment, victim stated the individuals got back in the car and headed North on Covington St. . An area canvass of the suspect vehicle was conducted with negative results. District Detective Unit assume the investigation.

On May 27, 2023, at approximately 1516 hours, this officer was dispatched to the 1400 Block of Andre Street for a stolen auto report. Complainant stated he parked his 2014 Ford Explorer white in color in the 1400 Block of Andre Street. Complainant stated he parked and secured his vehicle at the above location at approximately 1100 hours. The Complainant discovered his vehicle keys were missing. Complainant was unable to locate his keys and his vehicle. A 309 card was given with the complaint number.
ROBBERY – CARJACKING, 1100 KEY HWY E, TUESDAY, 5/30/23, 21:00
From BPD:
On 5.30.23, This Officer responded to 1100 Key Hwy in reference to an unarmed carjacking. Upon arrival I spoke to victim who stated that she had just been carjacked by 5 unknown black males while getting some things from her car described as a maroon 2005 Toyota Sienna. Victim stated that she observed 5 unknown black juvenile males walk passed her heading south in the 1100 block of Key Hwy. She continued by stating that she waited until they were no longer nearby to go back into her car. While leaning into the passenger side, victim heard one of the suspects say “I want to make this easy for you, just give me the keys”. They also asked her if she had any money. One of the suspects reached into the car and took her purse out. The suspect then dumped all of her belongings out of the purse and took approximately 60-100 dollars in US currency from her wallet and two sets of keys. The 5 suspects all entered the vehicle and was last seen fleeing southbound on Key Hwy. Victim was not injured. An area canvass was conducted with negative results. Citywide Robbery, responded to the location. Victim assistance information provided.
