‘Friends Grille’ Closes in Pigtown

| June 6, 2023 | 0 Comments

Friends Grille at 737 Carroll St. in Pigtown has closed. The business posted the following to Facebook on May 26th:

Good afternoon Friends Family,

It is with great sadness and some optimism that we write this notice. We first want to thank all of you for your continued support over the past 3 and a half years. It is because of you that we have made it this far. Words can’t express how appreciative we are of you and all that you have done for us. That said, we are sad to have to inform our family that this weekend will be the last weekend Friends Grille will be operating on Carroll Street. In short, we had a contract to purchase the property but we were unable to secure the financing necessary to close the deal. Subsequently, the date on our contract expired and we were unable to reach a short term deal to continue at our current location.

Because of you our Friends Grille family we are optimistic for our future though we don’t know what that looks like at this very minute. Please continue to follow us on social media and keep in contact with us. We will have an announcement in the very near future regarding our next steps. Meanwhile, please come say good-bye to us at our current location this weekend.

Your Friends at Friends Grille

Prior to Friends Grille, the location had been home to Pigtown Tavern, SHAKERS, and Jigg’s Tavern.

Building ownership told SouthBMore.com it is making repairs to the building and can’t share any news on its future at this time.
