New Homes on Light St. Going Up Quick

The four new townhomes being developed on the 1600 block of Light St. have sprouted out of the ground very quickly.  The framing crew started yesterday and they are already installing the the second floor beams on all four homes.  The contractor is South Baltimore veteran Hawkeye Construction.   They have built many properties and developments in the area and are based in Pigtown on Ostend St.  One thing I quickly noticed is that these homes will block the view of the Victory House from the corner of Randall and Light… can’t complain about that!

Sly Fox now Wiley Gunter’s

Wyatt Mackie who has been the General Manager/Operator/Part Owner of Sly Fox since 2008 has bought out his partners who are busy running Sly Fox and Level in Annapolis and is now the owner of Wiley Gunter’s.  Other than the name change, the bar has undergone a small facelift and a few changes to the menu. All of the fan clubs will remain which include the Washington Redskins, Washington Capitals and Virginia Tech.

Charm City Concierge Opens at McHenry Row

Existing South Baltimore business Charm City Concierge has opened a retail location at McHenry Row next to Dunkin Donuts.  They will be the concierge service for the residents and businesses of McHenry Row. They will also assist in marketing for the businesses and the McHenry Row development as a whole.

M&T Bank at 1111 Light Street Opens

M&T Bank has opened it’s new retail location at 1111 Light Street. Moving from its Cross St. location, M&T Bank will be one of the many new retail businesses joining the 1100 block of Light St.  As far as the old location on Cross St., I’m hearing the property is being eyed for redevelopment – we’ll let you know if we hear more.

Carl’s Little House Renovations

Carl’s Little Houe on the corner of Hamburg St. and Ostend St. in Pigtown has been undergoing extensive renovations since its sale at auction last month.  We are unsure of the new name of the bar, but hopefully it does well as quality bars and restaurants are badly needed in Pigtown.
