Harrah’s Begins the Hiring Process

The Harrah’s on Russell St. in South Baltimore will begin construction shortly with an anticipated open in 2014.  Harrah’s already hired their new General Manager, Chard Barnhill, and has promised more than 1,000 jobs with potentially 500 more if Question 7 passes allowing table games.  To stay in touch about the job opportunities, join their email list.

Food Desert in Pigtown/SoWeBo No More

We have great news to report about the Mt. Clare Junction shopping center – permit are in the window and construction crews are in the old Safeway site as it is becoming a new Price Rite.  Great news for the area!  3224 Washington Blvd. is also getting a new 7-Eleven in place of Quest.

New Kids Store Replacing Old Bobbabooi’s 

It appears Federal Hill is getting its first kids boutique – a great family addition to go along with the neighborhood’s improving schools.  According to the sign in the window, Cottage Kidz Boutique is opening in the former location of Bobbabooi’s Treasure Chest, which has since reopened on Charles St.  It appears Cottage Kidz also has a store in Mt. Vernon.

Susquehanna Bank Opening on Key Highway

215 Key Highway, which is directly across the street from Rash Field, the Maryland Science Center and Federal Hill Park, is gaining a Susquehanna Bank in a large vacant space.  It is nice to add a large business to that section of the neighborhood which will also undergo a major street improvement with the upcoming Key Highway and Light Street roundabout project.

Blue Agave Adds Outdoor Seating

Blue Agave has really seen an infusion of new energy since its new owners took over in the early spring.  Interior renovations have taken place and the outside has seen a full renovation which includes bigger windows, a new sign, planters and now outdoor tables.  Looks great!

Soho Eatery Renovation Underway

Soho Eatery at 1504 Light Street has been undergoing a renovation the last few weeks and, according to the sign on their door, they will be reopening soon.

Baltimore Sandwicherie Sticks to Catering

Baltimore Sandwicherie on Fort Ave. will now just provide catering and no longer dine-in our carry-out service.
