MedStar to Lease Large Space at Riverside Wharf
Caves Valley Partners recently told SouthBMore.com that more than 25,000 sq. ft. of office space had been leased to one major tenant at their Riverside Wharf Development. It is now confirmed that tenant will be MedStar Health, a major health care organization in the Baltimore area that runs local hospitals including Harbor Hospital and Union Memorial. MedStar has placed a large banner announcing their new facility on the fence of the Key Hwy. development in Riverside.
There is also a sign for MedStar PromptCare, which is MedStar’s urgent care facilities.
The building is currently under construction with a 14,000 sq. ft. Walgreens expected to open mid-March and the office space, which totals 31,000 sq. ft., expected to open in early May. The Walgreens will have 60 designated parking spaces and the office portion will have 90 dedicated parking spaces.
The building will be three stories high and will have the feeling of an old industrial wharf. There will be a brick facade along Key Hwy., Boyle St., Harvey St. and Lawrence St., and there will be a modern looking curve at the corner of Key and Lawrence. The building will be surrounded by trees and the roof will be green (made of vegetation). There will also be an outdoor arcade-style area facing Harvey St.
This will be the second major development, following 1111 Light Street, completed by Caves Valley Partners in South Baltimore.
