Tuscan Fresh Coming to Riverside this Spring

photoChef Greg Nalley is making his return to South Baltimore with his new restaurant Tuscan Fresh which will open at 554 E. Fort Ave. at the former home of Ullswater/Sly Fox/Soigné in Riverside. Nalley was the original owner of Harvest Table in Locust Point. After Nalley sold the restaurant, the property was eventually demolished to make room for the Under Armour Visitors Center.

Four years ago, Nalley started Nalley Fresh, a popular restaurant with locations in Hunt Valley and downtown. According to a statement from the Nalley Fresh group, the restaurant allows patrons to select their own ingredients for a fresh salad bowl or wrap from a wide variety of fresh ingredients, including hearty proteins, fresh greens, healthy veggies and more.

Tuscan Fresh will provide a similar concept, but with pasta. “Our guests will be guided through the process of selecting fresh ingredients to add to a variety of pasta bases. The dish can be adorned with all sorts of toppings ranging from house-made sauces to cheeses, fresh veggies, nuts, proteins and other garnishes – all finished off with a quick saute by one of our chefs and then hand-delivered to your seat or placed into a to-go box,” said Nalley.

Tuscan Fresh will also offer standard pasta options designed by their chefs, as well as gluten-free options. It will be a fairly quick dining experience ideal for diners on the go. The restaurant will also take online orders for pickup. The two-story dining area will have a capacity of 70 people.

Tuscan Fresh will serve beer and wine, but will not have a traditional bar.

“We’re really excited about bringing a fun culinary experience to Fort Ave. and, most importantly, we’re fully committed to being a responsible, proactive member of the community by offering good jobs, keeping the area clean and respectable, and providing our customers with a safe, healthy dining experience,” said Nalley.

Construction has already begun on the property and they are expecting to open in March.
