LEANSPACE Solutions offers 900 square feet of newly-renovated boutique office and event space featuring conference rooms, meeting rooms, and private and community areas, as well as an outdoor patio and lounge. Spaces can be reserved on LEANSPACE Solutions’ website for up to six hours a day with rates ranging from $3/hour to $40/hour.

LEANSPACE Solutions provides free WiFi, coffee/tea, scanning, outbound domestic faxes and limited printing to users. Owner Carolyn Lynch is hoping the space will offer an affordable alternative to working out of coffee shops and cafés. Lynch, a CPA and co-owner of a 22-year-old consulting company, is keenly aware of the space challenges of small and growing businesses. She is hoping the location on Light St. will be the test model for more LEANSPACE Solutions locations in the future.

Lynch discovered the South Baltimore space from doing pro bono work for Jobs, Housing and Recovery Inc. (JHR), a Baltimore-based non-profit that provides shelter, treatment, counseling, and a chance for a new beginning to men in the community who are struggling with homelessness and addiction. JHR owns 1529 Light St. and was hoping to find a new tenant for the retail space after using it in recent years as a temporary office. Lynch likes the area and jumped at the opportunity when JHR let her know about its availability in late 2013.
