The retail at Locust Point’s McHenry Row will soon reach full capacity as Harbor Lights Tanning Studio is opening at the suite adjacent to Greene Turtle. This will be the second location for Harbor Lights Tanning, which has been open at 2805 O’Donnell St. in Canton for the past 12 years.

The new location is expected to open on September 13th and employ five to six people. It will be 1800 sq. ft. and will feature nine tanning beds and a spray tan booth. There will be five levels of tanning and aromatherapy tanning, as well as the spray tanning. Members will be able to use both locations.

Owner Carol Karamichalis took over Harbor Lights Tanning two years ago and had been looking for a second location near Federal Hill. After checking out some potential locations on Light St., Karamichalis quickly got a lease signed after meeting with McHenry Row Developer Mark Sapperstein about the available space .

“Everything is right here,” said Karamichalis. “There is a lot of foot traffic and there is already hair and nail salons, yoga, and cycling in the shopping center, so we feel like we are a great fit, especially with the lack of tanning options around.”
