South Baltimore residents will soon be able to get cookies until 3am each day as Insomnia Cookies is opening a new location in Federal Hill at a previously vacant space at 1059 S. Charles St. next door to MaGerk’s. Insomnia was started in 2003 in the dorm room of University of Pennsylvania student Seth Berkowitz and now has many locations throughout the country including a location near Johns Hopkins University at 3301 N. Charles St. Another location is also coming soon to Fells Point at 812 S. Broadway #C-1.

FullSizeRender 2In addition to being able to buy cookies on-site, the Federal Hill location will also offer cookie delivery. It will be open from 11am to 3am each day with delivery available beginning at noon. All the cookies at Insomnia are served warm and the menu includes around nine cookie flavors as well as deluxe cookies, cookie cakes, brownies, ice cream sandwiches, ice cream, milk, and water. Cookies can be ordered a la carte or in large quantities.

“Federal Hill speaks to the urban metroplex we are looking for,” said Megan M. Bruton, senior director of marketing for Insomnia Cookies. “We are looking for areas with a lot of young adults and active communities we can be a part of. Federal Hill also has a lot of night life which is good for the 3am cravings.”

Insomnia Cookies will open in early 2016. It expects to hire 20 to 25 employees including drivers, bakers, cashiers, and marketing representatives.
