No Way Jose Café, a long-time Federal Hill staple at 38 E. Cross St., closed its doors yesterday but, now, the restaurant has a new owner. The team from Federal Hill’s Blue Agave signed a deal today to take over the popular South Baltimore Mexican restaurant.

With the ink still drying on the transaction, the team from Blue Agave is just beginning to assess what changes and potential renovations will be made and when the doors will reopen, but they know they want it to stay a neighborhood bar.

“We want to keep the spirit of No Way Jose alive,” said Brian Acquavella of Blue Agave. Acquavella noted this included continuing to serve Natural Light, a popular beer at the former restaurant.

Acquavella told SouthBMore.com they will work to get the place reopened as fast as possible and are looking to sit down with the former employees of No Way Jose Café.
