As Howl at the Moon closes, Power Plant Live! recently welcomed a new tenant as Kraken Axes opened an axe throwing bar last month.

Closures in recent years at Power Plant Live! include MEX and AGGIO Baltimore, which both closed in 2018, and Ruth Chris and Havana Club, which both closed in 2016. AGGIO, Ruth Chris, and Havana Club’s former spaces along Water St. currently remain vacant. Joe Squared closed in 2017 at Power Plant Live!, but still maintains a Station North Location. Charm City Pizza replaced Joe Squared, but also closed in 2018. That space remains vacant. Charm City Clue Room opened in 2016.

Co-working space Spark Baltimore has expanded several times within the complex. It expanded in 2017 and 2019 and now occupies six floors of 8 Market Place.

Baltimore City Community College (BCCC) has entered a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Power Plant Live! owner The Cordish Companies to build a 45-story tower at the school’s closed downtown location at 710 E. Lombard St., which is located next-door to the complex. This MOU was announced in 2018, but construction has yet to begin.
