Pet store Howl is closing at McHenry Row in Locust Point. Its last day is October 30th.

Howl still has locations in Hampden and Mount Washington.

From Howl’s Instagram:

We’re heartbroken to share that Howl in McHenry Row will be closing at the end of this month.

Despite our best efforts, this location wasn’t able to sustain the business needed to stay open.

Our sister stores — Howl in Hampden and Howl in Mt. Washington — will continue to operate as normal.

Our groomer, Victoria, is doing her best to reach out to her regular clients individually. If you’re an existing client and want to follow her next chapter, please reach out through your usual contact method. She’s been incredibly busy during this transition, so we appreciate your patience.

If you see this after we’ve closed and have questions or need to get in touch with Victoria, the Hampden location will be able to assist you.

This has been an incredibly emotional time for our small team. We’ve loved being part of this community and getting to know you and your pets. Thank you for your kindness, support, and for letting us be part of your lives — it’s meant the world to us.

Howl opened in 2023 in a space that had been a pet shop since the shopping center opened in 2012. Previous tenants included Dogma and Loyal Companion.

The closure of Howl creates a second retail vacancy at McHenry Row as PNC closed in April.

Taco Love Grill recently announced it will open in the former CHX restaurant space at the shopping center.
