After 15 years at Southside Marketplace in Riverside/Locust Point, RE SalonSpa is relocating to 1632 E. Fort Ave. in Locust Point. Owner Resu Sunuwar bought the Fort Ave. rowhouse which was most recently used for residential use after a history as a commercial property.

Sunuwar is an esthetician and took over the business eight years ago. RE SalonSpa also has salon manager and esthetician Megan Kazmierski, hairstylist Mindy Klemkowski, and threader Ramila.

RE SalonSpa closed at Southside Marketplace at the end of April and plans to reopen in Locust Point on May 13th. Kazmierski told SouthBMore.com that after rising rents at Southside Marketplace, Sunuwar wanted to own a property of her own for the business.

The building only needed a light renovation to the remove the kitchen and add some new lighting. The first floor will be used as a salon and the two bedrooms upstairs will be used as treatment rooms.

Kazmierski said, “It’s super exciting to be in Locust Point and closer to our clients in the neighborhood.”

She noted it’s a really busy block of Locust Point, located across the street from Latrobe Park and a couple blocks from Francis Scott Key Elementary/Middle School where Kazmierski and Klemkowski both attended.

“Everyone is so friendly and it’s been amazing to watch everyone walk by,” she added.
