photoWhen Ronnie Prochoren and Rick Soucy opened City Limits in 2005, they were hoping to remodel every aspect of the property at 1700 E. Fort Ave in Locust Point, which is home to one of the oldest liquor licenses in Baltimore City.  As costs began to add up, they weren’t able to make all the changes they wanted right away.

Since 2005 they have built a new kitchen, remodeled the interior of the restaurant and added many new televisions, but now they are excited to finally begin renovations on the exterior of the property.  They have recently removed the formstone and will be repointing the brick underneath. On the Andre St. side of the property they are installing large new windows and they will be removing the exterior air conditioning units.

When removing the formstone on the Fort Ave. side, they discovered a cinder block facade on the first level. They are currently deciding whether to cover the facade with trim work, or to replace the cinder blocks with large new windows or glass garage doors.

Prochoren and Soucy are also hoping to add outdoor seating to City Limits. They are currently in negotiations with the adjacent neighbors and the Locust Point Civic Association on establishing an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The plan calls for the addition of outdoor tables and chairs along Fort Ave. and Andre St. for 20-24 patrons.

Prochoren and Soucy own the property with two other partners, and the group is about to undertake a renovation of the second floor of the property, which is currently vacant.  They are leaning towards renovating the space into office space that would be available for lease to local businesses.
