Zips Victimized by Arson

In our Pigtown News Updates article on April 12th, we wrote about good news surrounding the shopping center at Washington Blvd. and MLK Blvd. as it was leased to capacity with the addition of 7-Eleven. Unfortunately a few days later, the Zips Dry Cleaning at 707 Washington Blvd. was the victim of arson. The fire also caused damage to Tony’s Grill two doors down.  From Pigtown Main Street’s Facebook Page:

Between 10:30 pm Friday night and 4:30 am Saturday morning, one or several people broke into and entered the Zips Dry Cleaning at 707 Washington Blvd. The store was intentionally lit on fire by the robbers. Anyone with information about the case is urged to call Baltimore City Police Department – Arson Unit at 410-396-2645 and ask for Detective Reno. If your property is near the strip mall and you have video cameras on your house, please call.

Three New Cafes

We’ve been keeping an eye on a renovation going on at 1442 E. Cross Street Kabob Under New Management

Cross Street Kabob House at 1101 Light St. recently closed for a small period of time and underwent a minor renovation to the inside. They also added additional signage and posters to the outside.  According to a sign on the building, it is now under new management.
