Pigtown Bar News

The former Carroll Station at 1415 Washington Blvd. across the street from Carroll Park was sold at auction on July 25th by A.J. Billig & Co. The bar will be renamed Pigtown Ale House and will be presenting a business plan to the Citizens of Pigtown soon.

Another bar will be available at an A.J. Billig & Co auction on Monday as Rainbow’s Pigtown Bar at 1173-1175 Sargent St. could be sold to the highest bidder.  More information can be found here.

Former Bar Space Available as Office Retail

The liquor license at the former LP Docks at 1476 Reynolds St. in Locust Point was transferred and will be used at the soon-to-open World of Beer at McHenry Row.  The property was recently sold at auction on July 18th and the former space of LP Docks is now available for lease as retail/office space.  The property also includes two apartments above the space.

SoBo Bar Owner Opens New Bar in Canton

Jason Zink, a Pigtown resident who owns No Idea Tavern and previously Don’t Know Tavern, has teamed up with Craig Fields, who is the chef of No Idea, MaClean Stevenson, who is a local contractor, and Rich Chung of Park Bench Pub to open a new bar/restaurant called Smaltimore at 2522 Fait Ave. in Canton in the former home of Lagers Pub.  The bar features a drink exchange program in which the price of beers (36 taps with many local brews!) fluctuate like the stock market.

The menu includes burgers using Roseda Farms beef from Monkton starting at just $4, as well as wings and other appetizers.  They will be starting a sushi and brunch menu in September.  SouthBMore.com stopped by for their grand opening on Wednesday and their burgers are and one heck of a deal!
