Hi, my name’s Casino!  I’m a sweet, 10 month old fella who’s ready to give gentle kisses in exchange for cuddles.  I’m a curious boy and I like to sniff out my surroundings on my walks – I adore walks!  The volunteers love to take me out because I walk so well on a leash.   I recently went on an outing, and I really enjoyed riding in the car; I jumped right in and got into my crate to prepare for the ride.  I take treats gently and I’m an eager learner – I already know ‘sit.’  If that’s not enough, I even look dapper in a tie!  I’m just looking for my forever family, so please come meet me at BARCS today!

Hi, I’m Taylor!  I’m a sweet, 2 year old boy who loves to cuddle and get my ears scratched.  When a friend shows up at my kennel door to take me for a walk or say “hi,” I get SO happy that I do my joyful wiggle-butt dance.  I love my human friends!  I especially love when we go to the play yard to chase tennis balls, that’s so much fun!  I’m very eager to show you my ‘sit,’ especially for some yummy treats.  I haven’t met any of the other dogs here yet, but I’m very excited to get my chance.  I’m a fun-loving pup who would make a great companion, so please come to BARCS to meet me today.

Hello, my name’s Candie, and I’m a 3 year old girl that would love to have a forever family for the holidays.   I’m a bit shy in the shelter environment, but once I’m outside I relax and start to open up.   Once I know that you’re my friend I love to be pet and cuddled, and will even give you some kisses if you let me!  I love sniffing and exploring and going for walks.  I’m very happy and playful with other dogs – check out my video!  I’m a really sweet girl and I miss having a home to relax in.  Please come to BARCS to meet me today!

Adopting a shelter dog is truly saving a life. The shelters cannot save animals without support from the community in the form of adoptions, fostering, volunteering and donations.  If you would like to meet these pups, please visit the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS), located at 301 Stockholm St., Baltimore, MD. 21230.  For directions:  BARCS is open to the public Monday through Friday 2pm-6pm and Saturday and Sunday 11am-4pm.  Please visit their website at to see these and other wonderful animals waiting hopefully for their forever homes.

For information about volunteering for BARCS, please contact Joe at [email protected] or visit the website.  If you are interested in fostering, please contact [email protected].  If you cannot adopt or foster the dogs but would like to help them on their quest to find a forever family, please share their story via social media or donate through the BARCS website.
