photoAn application for a bar/restaurant named Snug and Evil was approved on Thursday, March 13th by the Board of Liquor License Commissioners for Baltimore City (BLLC). Snug and Evil will open at 1401 Decatur St. in Locust Point at the former home of Banners, which opened in 2009 but has been closed for multiple years.

Snug and Evil was described as a neighborhood bar and restaurant with a fairly upscale menu. The name Snug and Evil comes from a line in an E. E. Cummings poem that was written while Cummings was sitting in the famous Irish saloon in Manhattan, McSorley’s Old Ale House.

The establishment will be managed by Kelly Scott,  a former longtime manager of The Wharf Rat in Fells Point.

The application received a letter of support from the Locust Point Civic Association (LPCA), as well as from David Martz, a neighbor of The Wharf Rat.
