Under Armour Plans Renovations to Tide Point Offices

photoUnder Armour presented renovation plans for their Tide Point campus on Wednesday, March 12th to the Locust Point Civic Association (LPCA). The renovations fall within the requirements of the planned unit development (PUD) passed in early 2012 which allows for 400,000 square feet of future expansion at Tide Point.

Under Armour’s Campus Director Shawn King presented renovation plans for the Cascade and Joy buildings. The Joy building is at the western edge of the campus and Cascade is adjacent; both face the harbor.

Under Armour will be opening new offices in the third floor of both buildings. There is currently a walking bridge connecting the northern edge of both buildings at the third level and Under Armour is hoping to tear that down and build a new walking bridge further back towards the middle of both buildings. They will also be cleaning up the northern facade of both buildings and installing new windows.

For the Joy building, they are proposing to clean up the roof line, which includes the removal of many fourth story pop-ups, as well as install new skylights to bring in more light to the offices.

At Cascade they will be performing a renovation of the fourth floor, which is directly below the Under Armour sign, and are hoping to add a fourth story pop-out where they will build a large new board room.

The plan received unanimous support from the LPCA membership.
