Steven, Tulsa and Olivia Available at BARCS!

Hi, I’m Steven! I’m 1 ½ years old, but I have the sweet, wiggly personality of a puppy. I simply love life! I’m a happy-go-lucky guy who appears to always be smiling. I love to play with my human friends, and I’m very good at listening – I take corrections well and like to learn new things. I already know how to sit for a treat, and I’m learning to have fun on the agility equipment. I absolutely LOVE to play with my doggie friends here. I listen very well to the other dogs when they tell me I’m getting too silly, and I’m a pretty fast learner when it comes to appropriate doggie manners. Please come to BARCS to meet me today.

Hi, my name is Tulsa! I’m a laid back, 3 year old boy. The volunteers have written a lot of words on my kennel to describe me – sweet, happy, great dog…the list goes on. They also say that I’m easy to walk and eager to please! I recently attended the “Tour Dem Parks” event, and it was so much fun! I gave out some kisses, and handled all the people with no problem. In fact, people complimented me on how I was so calm and well behaved. I absolutely love to get silly and play with other dogs, and then relax with my human friends. Please come to BARCS to meet me today!

Hi, I’m Olivia! I’m a 1 year old girl with lots of personality. I love, love, love belly rubs and always want to give you kisses. I’m very playful, but I know when it’s time to calm down, and I walk well on my leash. I recently attended the “Tour Dem Parks” event, and gave out kisses to everyone I met.  I love to play with the other dogs here, and I’m well-mannered with them. Sometimes I walk up to all the visiting cars as I go on my walks – I’m trying to find my ride out of the shelter and into my forever home! Please come to BARCS to meet me today!

Adopting a shelter dog is truly saving a life. The shelters cannot save animals without support from the community in the form of adoptions, fostering, volunteering and donations.  If you would like to meet these pups, please visit the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS), located at 301 Stockholm St., Baltimore, MD. 21230.  For directions:  BARCS is open to the public Monday through Friday 2pm-6pm and Saturday and Sunday 11am-4pm.  Please visit their website at to see these and other wonderful animals waiting hopefully for their forever homes.

For information about volunteering for BARCS, please contact Joe at [email protected] or visit the website.  If you are interested in fostering, please contact [email protected].  If you cannot adopt or foster the dogs but would like to help them on their quest to find a forever family, please share their story via social media or donate through the BARCS website.
