Unified Community Connections holds Hoodstock fundraiser

BALTIMORE—Unified Community Connections, a nonprofit agency serving children and adults with disabilities, will hold Hoodstock XI, the casual charity event where guests wear jeans and tie-die and hear live rock and folk music from the 1960s and ’70s.

When?                 Saturday, Sept. 20

                                5:30 p.m. doors open

                                6 p.m. opening act – The Doggetts

                                7:30 p.m. headliner – Roses n Rust

Where?               American Visionary Art Museum

                                800 Key Highway


Roses n Rust will headline Hoodstock, which will also feature performances by The Doggetts, Gumboot and The Wafflers. All four bands have members with a direct connection to Unified Community Connections. The bands cover classic artists including The Beatles, Neil Young and Grateful Dead as well as modern artists including Cee Lo Green, My Morning Jacket and Adele.

 In addition, Hoodstock will include dinner, beer, wine, raffles, a silent auction and the announcement of this year’s Samuel A. Tucker Memorial Can Do Award presented by Baltimore Raven and Unified Community Connections board member O.J. Brigance.

Hoodstock began in 2004 as a neighborhood event and grew into a major fundraiser benefiting Unified Community Connections. Last year, 350 people attended and raised more than $65,000 to help people with disabilities.

Tickets cost $40 in advance and $45 at the door. Children age 5 and younger are free, and children 6 and older are $10. For more information, visit www.unified.org or email Lauren Magee at lmagee@unified.org.
