King, Shakira and Mingus Looking for their Forever Home at BARCS!

| August 24, 2015 | 0 Comments

This good looking dude is 6 year old King. He’s a laid back guy and is easy on the leash. He sits readily for treats, and he has a cute little way of talking to you – talking, not barking! King was assessed off leash with a male and female dog and was generally indifferent to play, and preferred to hang out with our volunteers. He previously lived with several other dogs before coming to our shelter. Please come to BARCS to meet him today!

Meet Shakira! This 5 year old girl likes to play as well as cuddle, and is very gentle when walking on a leash. She comes to you when you call her, and takes treats gently. She also knows “sit”- check out her video online and see for yourself! She is EXTREMELY loving and will sit in your lap and lick your face all day if you would let her! She loves everyone here and her butt wiggles when you approach her! She also enjoys play group with the other dogs. She’s a great girl, please come to BARCS to meet her today!

Mingus is a big boy with a big heart and is ready to love you and your family with it. He is calm and easy going and knows “sit,” “down” and “paw.” Mingus enjoys being outside and sniffing about or is content just to lay in the grass and enjoy the scenery. He has muscular, long legs so he may be ready to run with you if that’s what you like. Mingus seems to be the kind of guy who would adapt to any life style. He is waiting patiently so come to BARCS and meet him.

Adopting a shelter dog is truly saving a life. The shelters cannot save animals without support from the community in the form of adoptions, fostering, volunteering and donations.  If you would like to meet these pups, please visit the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS), located at 301 Stockholm St., Baltimore, MD. 21230.  For directions:  BARCS is open to the public Monday through Friday 2pm-6pm and Saturday and Sunday 11am-4pm.  Please visit their website at to see these and other wonderful animals waiting hopefully for their forever homes.

For information about volunteering for BARCS, please contact [email protected] or visit the website.  If you are interested in fostering, please contact [email protected].  If you cannot adopt or foster the dogs but would like to help them on their quest to find a forever family, please share their story via social media or donate through the BARCS website.
