| June 15, 2023 | 0 Comments

Clipper Construction, a full-service construction company, purchased 1642 Beason St. in Locust Point for $775,000 and will renovate the property into its new headquarters. The 8,100 sq. ft. building has been the home of A-1 Drive Shaft Company’s machine shop for more than 20 years.

Clipper Construction plans to use the building’s drive-in warehouse and will build out offices on the second floor.

Clipper Construction is looking to lease the first-floor space at the corner of Beason and Andre St. to a locally-owned bakery.

Construction is expected to start by the end of 2023.

A-1 Drive Shaft Company is relocating to Anne Arundel County.

Clipper Construction was started in 2020 by managing partners Evan Roberts and Jeffrey Miller. Clipper Construction provides construction services across several verticals including retail, industrial and office fit-out, adaptive reuse, historical restoration, and mixed-use development.

The company said, “the building’s strategic location, combined with its functional layout, makes it an ideal choice for the company’s expanded headquarters.”

Clipper Construction employees currently work remotely and at satellite locations. The new headquarters allows the company to consolidate its entire team in one building.

“We are very excited that Clipper Construction’s company headquarters will be relocating to Locust Point in the upcoming year,” said Roberts. We believe that Locust Point is an ideal location for our employees with the ability to provide excellent service to our customers.¬† We will look forward to adding pieces to our new real estate that will help support and accommodate the Locust Point community.”

Jim Chivers of Gold and Company, LLC assisted Clipper Construction with the purchase.

Clipper Construction’s plan received a letter of support from the Locust Point Civic Association.
