Locke Landing is one of the largest active development sites in the city as it spans 25 acres. Construction is currently underway on new streets, new townhomes, new condos, and new apartment buildings. A new pool and clubhouse will also start soon.

Locke Landing is a 809-unit residential development by master developer 28 Walker. It replaces the former Locke Insulators industrial campus that was previously active from 1920 to 2017.

K. Hovnanian Homes is building 92 “2 over 2” housing units on the northern section of the property at E. Cromwell St. and W. Peninsula Dr. Each condominium is two levels of a four-story townhome building. One building of condos has been constructed and two other are currently under construction.

The development will have 297 new townhomes by DRB Homes on the southern portion of the property. This will consist of 103 16 ft.-wide townhomes, 152 20 ft.-wide townhomes, and 42 24 ft.-wide waterfront townhomes. More than 70 homes have been complete or are currently under construction.

A spokesperson for DRB Homes told SouthBMore.com in July that sales, which opened on January 20th, are “wildly successful.”

Greystar is currently under construction on two apartment buildings that will total 420 units in six stories. One building has topped out on its five stories. The other building has completed its parking garage and apartment construction has reached three stories. Completion is expected in late 2025.

Locke Landing is directly across Peninsula Dr. from the new Under Armour campus, which is wrapping up construction on its new 280,000 sq. ft. office, retail, and fitness building. The campus will be fully occupied in December as the company leaves its Locust Point headquarters.
