Suspect Targeted in Riverside Assault

| April 3, 2012 | 6 Comments

Major David Reitz stopped by the South Baltimore Neighborhood Association tonight along with a community liaison and his spokesperson.  A suspect is being targeted in a Sunday morning assault on Johnson St. by Riverside Park and is described as as “a black male, 6’0 tall, medium build, and dark complexion.”  He was seen by police directly before the time of the assault and was wearing sunglasses and a hooded sweatshirt.  Details of the assault can be seen in the below press release.

They warned people in the community to be very careful around Riverside Park right now and stay out of the park at night because of increased darkness.  The current renovations at Riverside Park have cut off the electricity, so their is currently no lights in the park at night.  Police are also unable to drive onto the park right now because of the entrance renovations, so their response to danger could be delayed.

They advised residents to call 911 not 311 anytime you see a “suspicious person.” Please Contact Major Reitz if you have any information on the assault or other crimes in the area.
