Official Release, Federal Hill Main Street:

Get ready, Baltimore! Aruba is bringing Beach Tennis to the Street Beat Festival in Federal Hill on Sunday, September 30, 11 am to 7 pm.

Federal Hill’s biggest annual festival of the year, Street Beat, takes place in the 1000-1200 blocks of South Charles Street and the unit blocks of East Cross Street, surrounding Cross Street Market.  This FREE event features live music on three stages (17 bands), arts & crafts, food & drink, games, Kids’ Kross Street with activities and performances for children, and just announced, a Beach Tennis court, courtesy of Aruba Tourism!

Reclaim summer and play a little Beach Tennis, the national sport of Aruba, “One Happy Island,” where pristine turquoise waters collide against the desert-like terrain of the north shore, where peace and relaxation coexist with wild and rugged adventures, and where Dutch influence meets American ease.  Home to more than 50 annual events and festivals, including the International Beach Tennis Championships, Aruba is thrilled to bring sand, sun, and fun to one of Baltimore’s greatest outdoor events, the Street Beat Festival!

Come party in the streets to the sounds of Old Man Brown, All Mighty Senators, Grilled Lincolns, Uncle Jack Band, Soul Island Rebels, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, & many more. Vendors will offer a wide assortment of arts & crafts and lots of food & drink options.

Kids’ Kross Street features moon bounces, face painting and temporary tattoos, fun do-it-yourself crafts, and games. A balloon-maker will add to the fun, along with a pirate or two from Urban Pirates who will be spinning some yarns for the kids.
