Hi, my name is Schmet, and I’m an affectionate 9 month old girl!  I’m not sure how I got such a silly name, but I don’t mind.  I know I’ll get a brand new name for my brand new life when I’m adopted!  I’m a big sweetheart that LOVES the play yard and playing with my doggie friends in play group.  My volunteer friends say that I’m very receptive to corrections and training, and I learn very quickly.  I’m very playful, but I also have a very affectionate side, and I just love to give kisses and get belly rubs!  Please come to BARCS to meet me today!

Hi, I’m Scrappy Hayes, and I’m a 2 year old happy boy!  I’m happy just playing by myself when you’re busy, but I’ll be sure to run over and randomly give you kisses just to make sure you know that I still love you.  I’m a very curious boy, and I like to amuse myself with simple things, like just sniffing around the various toys and objects in the play yard at the shelter.  I’m very playful with my human and doggie friends, and would make a great addition to your loving home.  Please come meet me at BARCS today!

Hi, my name is Diesel, and I’m a happy, energetic, 1 ½ year old boy.   The volunteers say that I’m very handsome, but I have so much more to offer than just my pretty face!  I’m always up for some playtime with my human and doggie friends; I’ve even met some kids here at the shelter and they were fun because they like playtime just like I do!  I know “sit,” and I would love for you to teach me more.   I’m a super fun, good time guy that’s waiting patiently for my forever home – please come to BARCS to meet me today!

Adopting a shelter dog is truly saving a life. The shelters cannot save animals without support from the community in the form of adoptions, fostering, volunteering and donations.  If you would like to meet these pups, please visit the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS), located at 301 Stockholm St., Baltimore, MD. 21230.  For directions: http://goo.gl/maps/rndi.  BARCS is open to the public Monday through Friday 2pm-6pm and Saturday and Sunday 11am-4pm.  Please visit their website at www.baltimoreanimalshelter.org to see these and other wonderful animals waiting hopefully for their forever homes.

For information about volunteering for BARCS, please contact Joe at JMiletti@barcsanimalshelter.org or visit the website.  If you are interested in fostering, please contact foster@baltimoreanimalshelter.org.  If you cannot adopt or foster the dogs but would like to help them on their quest to find a forever family, please share their story via social media or donate through the BARCS website.
