BALTIMORE — Hammerjacks Entertainment Group (HEG), owner of the trade name of Baltimore’s legendary rock ’n roll nightspot, concert hall and cultural phenomenon, is set to host its first official event: a benefit called Hammerjacks Rocks the Firehouse!, which is billed as a day of food and fun for families, on Saturday, Oct. 11.
The event will take place from 3-10 p.m., at the International Association of Firefighters (I.A.F.) Union Hall, located at 1202 Ridgely Street, Baltimore, Md., 21230, in the parking lot just across Russell Street from M&T Bank Stadium. Doors open at 2 p.m.
The event will feature Jack Russell’s Great White (“Once Bitten, Twice Shy,” “Rock Me,” “Save Your Love”), along with special guest and local favorite Face Dancer (“Red Shoes,” “Forever Beach”), plus Baltimore area bands Core, NightsBridge and So Low. The event is being held to benefit the Baltimore City Firefighters Widows and Orphans Fund.
“With its return on the horizon, we want the region’s business and nonprofit communities to know that Hammerjacks is back and that we want to work with them as we strive to build the best brand possible while we do whatever we can to contribute to our community,” said Kevin Butler, owner of HEG. “We are looking forward to a successful event and we move forward with our plans to open the best music venue in the country.”
Tickets for the event cost from $20-$50 and are available ticketfly.
Event sponsors include 98 Rock, PRS Guitars, 24-7 Entertainment and TicketFly. Look for news about Hammerjacks and an announcement about its reopening on Facebook, Twitter and other social and legacy media. More special events will be announced in the coming months.
