Fort Avenue’s Idle Hour has been closed since right before the New Year after discovering a structural issue in their building.  They are currently looking into their options, whether that means fixing their current space, relocating or selling the business.  They are planning fundraisers for their expenses and for the loss of income during this time and the first will be next Saturday at Little Havana.  From Their Facebook Page:

Well, here we go folks… As promised, our first fundraising party. This first party is being hosted by our good friends at Little Havana and we are working on our next one as we speak. The proceeds from this first party will allow us to keep the lights on, pay the mortgages, and help us pay for some potential legal expenses. We really appreciate all of your generous offers and concern. Please share this info and come join us for a fun night of music and friendship. We are really looking forward to seeing everyone.”

Idle Hour gave the following update on their Facebook page last week:

Well, here’s the deal. We closed the bar just before New Years when we discovered a structural issue with one of the bar walls. Our dealings with insurance have gotten us nowhere, even with an adjuster working on our behalf. We are currently considering the options of partnering with an investor or developer, moving to a nearby location, or selling the license and the bar buildings together or separately. We are completely open to any suggestions as we would really like to keep our little area of refuge alive.
We are planning a fundraising party to get everyone together, listen to some great music, and raise a little money for our current expenses. This will probably be in a week or two, and we will post info as soon as we have it.
This period has been very difficult and emotional for all of us at Idle Hour. Your continued love and support have truly helped us down this bumpy road.

Thank you,
Idle Hour
