Mexican Restaurant ‘Urbano’ Coming to Baltimore Peninsula

Today, the Baltimore Peninsula development team announced Urbano Mexican Fare is coming to a 4,500 sq. ft. retail space at the Rye Street Market building. Urbano, which is a concept from Common Plate Hospitality, has thee locations in the Washington, D.C. area and an additional location planned for Annapolis.

Common Plate Hospitality Group is led by Managing Partner/Executive Chef Chad Sparrow and Founding Partner Larry Walston.

Urbano says it brings together “the best of Texan and Mexican culinary traditions with a chef-created menu and proprietary tequila, sangria and beer offerings.”

The menu features burritos, chimichangas, tortas, tacos, enchiladas, appetizers, entrees, and Mexican desserts. It also has a brunch menu, lunch menu, and kids menu.

The bar has six types of margaritas as well as cocktails including its sangria, mojito, michelada, old fashioned, and cantaritos.

It’s a privilege to partner with the leaders behind this project as our roots and passion blossomed from areas just miles away.”

Already, the community’s retail provides critical amenities, exciting activities and enticing food and beverage destinations,” said MaryAnne Gilmartin, founder and CEO of MAG Partners, a partner in the Baltimore Peninsula development, in a press release.

Urbano is the latest restaurant announcement for the Baltimore Peninsula development, which finished construction on five new buildings last year. Rye Street Tavern and ROOST Cafe & General Store are expected to open in the coming weeks. Additional restaurants planned are Ben & Jerrys, Jersey Mike’s Subs, BK Lobster, Slutty Vegan, Bar Vegan, LIVE-K, and a multi-vendor space called The Exchange.
