BROWNIE BOY. 1

Brownie Boy

Meet Brownie Boy!  He has never met a tennis ball he didn’t love – or any ball for that matter! This beautiful boy loves playing fetch and will patiently wait at your feet (staring at the ball) for the next throw.  He is happy to fetch the ball as many times as you will throw it.  When he’s not playing with a tennis ball outside with staff or volunteers, he is most likely playing with one in his kennel!  Brownie Boy is 3 years old, housebroken, knows “sit” and “leave it”, and is very eager to be adopted! This boy is waiting patiently at the shelter and is very ready to be in his own home. Come to BARCS to meet him today!

spirit3Spirit (Caleb)

Hi, it’s me, Spirit (Caleb), and I’m a 2 year old boxer/terrier mix.  People say I’m handsome but it makes me blush.  See, I’m a little on the shy side, but don’t take that as me not wanting to be loved. I do!  I just need time to get to know you & the right environment, that’s all.  So I’m looking for that perfect person who will dote on me but give me a little room, too.  Sometimes I just wanna be in my man cave, I mean my crate!  I do love to explore – I keep my nose to the ground .  See, that’s fun for me!!  So won’t you give me a chance??  I’d love to meet you.  I’ve been here at the shelter for too long and really want my own home.

Cuddles1Cuddles

Cuddles is one big, solid girl who loves people!  She’s a 3 ½ year old terrier mix.  Her name suits her well – she’s a giant cuddle monster who is full of slobbery kisses.  Because of her large size, she has moments where she can get strong, but has an honest head on her shoulders.  She just wants to be close and hang out with you!  She is friendly with other dogs.  And don’t hold her cropped ears against her – someone may have wanted her to look big and bad, but Cuddles is just –  a cuddlebug!  She knows how to sit and is hoping to join the list of lucky ladies who have found loving homes.

Adopting a shelter dog is truly saving a life. The shelters cannot save animals without support from the community in the form of adoptions, fostering, volunteering and donations.  If you would like to meet these pups, please visit the Baltimore Animal Rescue and Care Shelter (BARCS), located at 301 Stockholm St., Baltimore, MD. 21230.  For directions: http://goo.gl/maps/rndi.  BARCS is open to the public Monday through Friday 2pm-6pm and Saturday and Sunday 11am-4pm.  Please visit their website at www.baltimoreanimalshelter.org to see these and other wonderful animals waiting hopefully for their forever homes.

For information about volunteering for BARCS, please contact Joe at JMiletti@barcsanimalshelter.org or visit the website.  If you are interested in fostering, please contact foster@baltimoreanimalshelter.org.  If you cannot adopt or foster the dogs but would like to help them on their quest to find a forever family, please share their story via social media or donate through the  BARCS website.
