Sad News for Pickles Pub
Unfortunately there was some very sad news this weekend about Mick Kipp, who worked at Pickles Pub and also made his signature food for events at Heavy Seas Brewery. From Heavy Seas Beer’s Facebook Page:
Zill had been an usher at Orioles games for 17 seasons before taking a medical leave of absence this season.
In addition to performing as the “Zillbilly” with straw hat, fake teeth and hillbilly overalls to John Denver’s “Country Boy” during the seventh-inning stretch, Zill performed magic tricks for fans in Section 244 between innings and during rain delays and pitching changes.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Trudy, and five children.
South Baltimore Little League Receives Big Donation
Exciting news for Opening Day! SBLL is happy to announce that, by this time next year, Domino Sugars has generously agreed to put in place a brand new backstop with covered dugouts (that’s right – professionally done covered dugouts!) on one to the fields. It’s going to look awesome! The hope is that all fields will have these in place over the next couple of years, but we say a huge thank you to Domino Sugars!
Brothers Sushi opened last weekend at the former home of Nichiban at 1035 S. Charles St. in Federal Hill. The property underwent an extensive renovation and is now run by a family with experience running various restaurants in Baltimore County.
