Great New Spot for Sushi

When I first met our friends over at CWM Construction, they were really excited to tell me about their new BYOB sushi restaurant they were opening on Fleet St. in Canton.  Formerly the home of Tijauna Tacos, CWM underwent a two-month renovation at 2224 Fleet St. and opened The Sushi Place.

The inspiration for The Sushi Place was born out of CWM owner Billy Malkin’s passion for sushi and more great sushi options in the Canton area.  Knowing they needed a talented and experienced sushi chef, CWM was able to bring in Ronald Choi, a 14-year sushi veteran.  Choi, a west coast native, worked formerly at Sticky Rice in Washington, DC. before becoming the manager and head chef at The Sushi Place.

The outside of the restaurant features an inviting white, red and black paint job as well as their logo which includes their name, sushi images and a Natty Boh logo.  The inside of the 23-seat restaurant is very clean and features a sushi bar, hardwood floors, a restored tin ceiling, a large flat screen TV and a friendly staff who greets you when you enter.

I stopped by for lunch and grabbed a seat at their sushi bar.  I enjoyed bowl of miso soup as well as their Crunchy Spicy Tuna Roll.  All of it was tasty and fresh and I look forward to coming back and trying some of their very creative specialty rolls – and bringing in my own bottle to enjoy with my meal!  They also offer appetizers, Nigri, Sashimi, Bento, Yakisoba Noodles, combos and more.

The Sushi Place offers free delivery, which has been a hit with many of the nearby Canton businesses, and is open daily from 12pm to 10pm except Friday and Saturday when they close at 12am.  If you are in the mood for sushi or are in the mood to venture out of our SoBo ‘hood, definitely check out The Sushi Place!
