Update 1/23: Fort McHenry is back open.

Original post:

Fort McHenry National Monument & Historic Shrine in Locust Point is currently closed as the Federal Government is currently in a shutdown after the United States Senate failed to pass a spending bill last night to keep the government open.

From the Fort McHenry Facebook Page:

Fort McHenry National Monument and Historic Shrine is closed.

Due to the lapse in federal appropriations, the National Park Service (NPS) is unable to fully staff the properties under its management. Additional information is available nps.gov/fomc and doi.gov/shutdown

Note: We will respond to all social media messages after the federal government has reopened.
